Oikia Roti

Oikia Roti (literally ‘Rotis’s Residence’) is a restored traditional house, which originally belonged to the village cobbler, a man named Rotís. The residence was lovingly updated and restored in the 2000s, while keeping true to its old-world charm.

Built on an area covering 1000 square metres, it is constructed with wood and locally quarried hand-carved stone, and features rustic cobblestone paths. Modern amenities were added during the restoration process to provide guests with the perfect combination of comfort and class, while maintaining the house’s traditional, rustic allure and history. Oikia Roti offers three double, en-suite bedrooms, each with unique features. The house’s common areas are dominated by breathtaking views of stone walls and colourful gardens. The house also includes a pool, a fireplace, indoor/outdoor lounge, and a patio perfect to enjoy breakfast al fresco or an afternoon coffee.

Oikia Roti is used as the retreat’s main house. Breakfast, dinner, as well as teaching take place on the house’s magnificent shaded balcony, overlooking the village centre.
