The Village
A village of approximately 150 inhabitants at 750 metres above sea level, Vasa is known for its lush vineyards, its delicious food and locally produced wine, as well as its beautiful traditional architecture. This is a far cry from the well-known Cypriot beach resorts of Ayia Napa or Paphos; in Vasa, one can still experience quiet Cypriot village life in gorgeous surroundings.
In addition to two local wineries, Vasa also features churches and chapels, museums, proto-Christian caves, as well as nature trails and a magnificent double-arched bridge. It lies about 35km (22 miles) northwest of Limassol, 104km (65 miles) from Larnaca airport, and 54km (33 miles) from Paphos airport.
The village is surrounded by vineyards and other vegetation. Its houses are built with a locally-quarried stone, which gives the village a unique charm, making it blend with its surroundings.
